Her Temple Monologues was founded and established by Shavina Richardson in May of 2012. Her vision was to call together local female artist and advocates, to create an experience that shed light a the day to day obstacles women face, while providing strength, support, and empowerment. Through monologues, the woman of Her Temple develop, perform and produce productions that share their stories of abuse, neglect, pain, power and faith. In September of 2012, Her Temple begin to host monthly events at a local Book Club located here in Albany, New York .
Since it's inception in 2012 Her Temple Monologues continuous to tell their stories in venues all across New York State. Furthermore Her Temple works vigorously to help and serve those in need in their local community. Her Temple over the last five years has hosted and developed events such as So You Think You Got Talent? and the Pink Zone Brunch. These events not only strive to bring community together, but they also serve as a tool to bring awareness to Domestic Violence and Breast Cancer. |
